Hi Friends,
Through my work as a CASA volunteer I have become aware of a single mom with two small adorable girls, here in our community (this family isn't in the foster system). They escaped an abusive spouse/father in another state and were just getting back on their feet when their car was totalled, then Coronavirus hit. Mom was scraping by working for a local business as a 1099 employee. With her income she was able to get them into a safe apartment, pay the utility bills and put food on the table. Now she is desperate they will lose everything she's worked for. She's not eligible for unemployment because she was a 1099 employee. Without a car, Mom can't even get to a food bank. I have located a decent used car for them and have called in favors at two shops to do some work on it, free labor, parts only. I would love to be able to bless this family and show them there is good in the world and in our community. Will you please help me help them? I've started the account with $500.
