POV: you finally have an answer to “what should we do this weekend?” 🍂

Swipe for the festivals, farms, spooky nights and early holiday lights worth putting on the calendar this fall. A few we’re already circling:

📚 Oct 3: the Collingswood Book Festival (Collingswood Book Festival) takes over Haddon Ave. Books in the morning, lunch on the Avenue after.

🎃 Pumpkins and a c***r donut (fine, two) at Johnson’s Corner Farm in Medford

👻 Oct 23: the Halloween Night Market in Haddonfield (Downtown Haddonfield). Take PATCO and skip the parking hunt.

Four bedrooms, three baths, and a third floor that can be an office, a studio, or whatever you decide it is. New floors throughout the property, a custom tile shower in the primary, and laundry on the second floor. (Which sounds like a small thing until you’ve carried a basket up two flights for ten years!)

Tatem Elementary is right around the corner and the Haddon Ave shops and restaurants are a five minute walk.

Wait… this is in South Jersey?!

Pennsville’s theshipyardnj is such a cool reminder that you don’t have to go far to find somewhere unexpected.

South Jersey has plenty of hidden spots like this, and I’m always looking for the next one.

Back in November, we toured this house right on Knight Park in Collingswood. It needed some love, and my clients ultimately passed, but it sold for $330K, got a full renovation, and is now back on the market for $525K.

One thing I love: they kept the original chestnut woodwork, including the staircase.

The updates include new hardwood floors, quartz countertops and stainless steel appliances in the galley kitchen, a pass-through breakfast bar, and a tiled bath.
It has 3 bedrooms, 1.5 baths, a sunroom off the back, and a wood-burning stove in the living room.

And that location is hard to beat, it looks out over 65 beautiful acres of Knight Park, with downtown Collingswood, the Farmers’ Market, the library, and PATCO all nearby.

Not to brag on this house’s behalf, but it has a garage. In Fishtown. (AKA, your parking permit can finally retire!)

The property was redone in 2024: blonde hardwood, quartz counters, built-in millwork at the entry.

Out back, the dining room sliders open to a private patio with raised planters, which means a real garden without leaving the city. And there are plenty more patio nights this season, so the timing works out.

Fairmount might be our favorite walk in the city.

Here’s what the graphics don't cover: Every October the neighborhood smells like fog machine because Eastern State Penitentiary goes all in on Halloween. And the side streets are quiet.

Here's how we'd spend a Friday in Fairmount. Start at Barnes Foundation, Philadelphia Museum of Art, or the Rodin Museum next door. Then head to the Rodin garden pop-up bar, and go this weekend, because it's the last one before it closes for the year. Finish at Bar Hygge with a b**r Brewery Techne made about forty feet from your table, or grab a sidewalk seat at Zorbas Tavern.

How did this coffee shop get its name? 1903 is the year Desiderio Pavoni of Milan perfected the espresso machine.

The building is actually older than that. The building goes back to 1895, and the station sat empty from 2021 until this project got hold of it.

Now the old administrative side is Cafe 903. Illy Coffee on the bar, an all-season room with glass garage doors that open onto a patio built where the trucks used to pull out. The building belongs to Mitch Gorshin’s Ends of the Earth project, and Gorshin spent 13 years at Disney as an executive creative director before he started designing spaces like this one (and it shows!).

A building sitting empty since 2021 is now one of the coolest corners on Collings on a Sunday.
