You won’t find this place by accident. That’s kind of the point.

Tucked back on a winding road in Sphinx Park, outside Pine, is the Bucksnort Saloon. No flashy billboard, no strip mall. Just a weathered barnwood sign with a snorting buck painted on it, sitting among the pines and aspens.

The second you pull up, you know you’re somewhere with some character. 🦌

This is exactly the kind of spot I love about living in the mountains. The best places aren’t always the easiest to get to, and the drive out is half the fun, especially this time of year with the aspens turning.

If you’re looking for a fall day trip with a real Colorado feel, put this one on your list. Bring an appetite and plan to slow down a little.

Pancake Rocks this morning 🥞 684 feet of elevation gain, out celebrating a friend’s birthday with some of my favorite people and I learned something out there: I need to slow down sometimes.

So on the way back down, I did. Little conversations with people heading up while I headed down, the sound of the water, the leaves showing off. I just soaked it all in.

I’m proud of myself for making it as far as I did. Building stamina one walk at a time. 💪🍂

Note to self: hike more often. This beauty is all around us and we take it for granted way too much.

Had to head back though — work was calling. Grateful for the reset.
