As July came to an end, the real estate market experienced a slowdown
in new inventory, although we were still up compared to July of 2023.
Even though fewer sellers listed this July, the larger number showed
that not all homeowners are completely against selling even though
their interest rates may be at historical lows. However, they could be
among some consumers anticipating that the potential rate cut this
fall could increase buyer demand. The increased competition may take
us back to a time when home prices rise as multiple buyers bid on the
same home. If you choose to buy, it allows for more thoughtful
negotiation and a potential for a refinance if rates trend down.

As we head deeper into August, buyers have the opportunity to find the
best deals on homes out there before prices go up and interest rates
continue to trend down! Now is also the perfect time for sellers to
start prepping their listings to hit the market for the perfect storm!
