The Kissing Camels Garden Club was established in 1982. The goal of this group is to stimulate the knowledge and love of gardening among our membership. Our speaker, on October 15th, was Dr. Maggie Gaddis who is the president of the Colorado Native Plant Society. We learned how you can wild your garden with Colorado native plants and flowers.

The meeting was held at the Cheyenne Mountain Country Club. The 50 women who attended enjoyed learning more about how you can enhance your garden with native plants and afterwards enjoyed lunch and conversation. 💐🪴☀️

During September the Kissing Camels Women’s Club held a fashion show that showed fall fashions with an emphasis on travel by the popular Chico’s Boutique located in the Briargate Shops. The manager Sophie is incredibly knowledgeable about style trends and clever ways to pack for travel. The 60+ neighborhood women that attended enjoyed the fashion, the food and the friendship! I have been a member of this group for 11 years and love the monthly programs and fellowship. 💐🌷☀️

This week I attended the Kissing Camels Garden Club at the Cheyenne Mountain Country Club. Our program presenter was Lori Goede who is a local celebrity in the floral community. She has been the Co-Owner of Skyway Creations, an iconic local treasure, for more than 50 years that closes its doors October 1st.

She and her husband Don helped customers express their sentiments to friends and loved ones through floral arrangements. She demonstrated techniques for creating arrangements using a wide variety of plant materials. She is clever, accomplished and funny. She used Dahlia flowers primarily for the 3 arrangements she made for us.

Dianne, the owner of Dianne’s Dahlias, is a local grower of spectacular dahlia flowers and her business is located on the grounds of the Western Museum of Mining. She grew her garden and flower market from 7 plants to over 2,000.
