The introit of the Mass on the occasion of today's feast of St. Martha. The text is from Psalm 45:8, 2: "You love justice and hate wrongdoing; therefore God, your God, has anointed you with the oil of gladness above your fellows. * My heart is stirred by a noble theme as I sing my ode to the king."

Are you interested in learning more about Mass propers? Have you wanted to try singing Gregorian chant? 4:8 is planning various workshops on chant. Many members are also involved in choirs in the local Columbus area.

What does it mean to be gracious? In a purely modern sense the term 'gracious' implies courtesy and the demonstration of a pleasant nature. A gracious person is kind and likable; social interaction comes easily to him or her. But St. Paul has more than that in mind when he asks us to think on what is gracious (Phil 4:8). The original terminology used by St. Paul (euphema in Greek) refers to that which is of good repute, the type of conduct and behavior that enriches our neighbors, and provides a good example to others.

The Four Eight Project seeks to create a community that strives to become such an example. It offers programming and events that center on that which is commendable, admirable, and gracious. It encourages members to act on these things and bring them into the world.

What is the 4:8 Project? The 4:8 Project is a coworking and community space built specifically to serve Catholics in Columbus, Ohio. In an increasingly isolated world, Catholics need a space to work, study, and pray side by side, a space where God can transform our lives through authentic Catholic community, and a space where members can direct their individual talents to restore and rebuild Christian Culture.

We take as our inspiration the words of St. Paul to the Philippians, 4:8: "Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is gracious, if there is any excellence and if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things."
