The Pettit Company is a builder/ construction management team that manages a full scope of residential and small commercial projects.
We are seeking skilled laborers/ maintenance experts who will be integral to completing our clients' project needs in a timely manner while providing quality work. The tasks of this position change almost daily.
Scope of Responsibilities:
- Carpentry repairs/ projects (e.g. interior trim, exterior trim, & some framing)
- Light plumbing repairs
- Light electrical repairs
- All levels of painting
- Drywall repairs
- Undertake other duties as assigned
- Identify and report the need for major repairs
- Reliable means of communication and transportation
- Significant supply of personal tools to use
- Maintain basic electronic records (i.g. photos, receipts, and sending/receiving emails)
Skills:
- Proven experience as a maintenance technician/handyman
- Basic understanding of electrical, plumbing, and other skilled trades
- Preferably advanced skills in all phases of carpentry
- Good communication
- Well-organized and apt in problem-solving
- Self-motivator and efficient worker
- Attention to detail
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Clean drug test and driving record
- Willingness to accept responsibility
- Willingness to learn new skills and grow current skills

Job Type: Full-time/Contract
Schedule - 8 hours a day Mon-Fri. Occasional weekend work available if desired, but not required.
Majority of work will take place around OSU campus, while occasional work may be around other parts of greater Columbus.
Pay: $15.00 - $27.00 per hour depending on skill level and tool availability
