Most all of us like to binge watch a little bit of Fixer Upper, BUT the question is, is purchasing a “fixer upper” right for you?
Renovating a house isn’t for everyone. Sure, it looks fun, but it can also be a lot of work. Let’s talk about the pros and cons!

Pros:
1. You will build sweat equity. Literally, by putting in the hard work and DIY’ing your renovations, you will be adding equity to your home.
2. You will be able to personalize your home exactly how you want to. You can make it your own and add unique touches that wouldn't come with a new home.
3. You might not be able to get pre-approved for your ideal home, so purchasing a fixer upper is a great way to become a homeowner without waiting or blowing your budget.

Cons:
1. You will have to sacrifice your time and actually do the hard work to make your Pinterest ideas become a reality. Of course it’s fun to dream about all of the complete projects, but be honest with yourself about if you can actually commit to it and want to!
2. Your home won’t necessarily be what we would call “move in ready”. You will have to be patient and wait until the finished product which could take anywhere from weeks, months, to even a year.
