There’s no question about it. I was absolutely terrified to get in that water.

That is exactly why I knew I had to do it. Too often if life we get complacent with our lives and stop looking for ways to challenge ourselves, mentally, spiritually, in business and in our relationships with others. If your not getting out of your comfort zone, your not growing.

Did jumping in a cold ass lake have any physical benefits? Probably not, but knowing that you can looking something in the eye that you are absolutely terrified of, and still do it builds a mental fortitude unlike any other. Being able to stare down your fears and run at them instead of running away from them is what’s going to make you grow.

Oh and it takes time. If you notice that is me on the back right. I was the last one to go neck deep, and in the full video you can hear telling me to get my neck under the water. You don’t have to be great at something the first time you do it. In fact most of the time you are going to suck at something for a while until you get better at it, that’s what growth is.

Happy to say I conquered my inner bitch this weekend, last weekend, and will being doing more of the same for the rest of winter.

February is going to suck, but I’m learning to embrace the suck.... Bring it on baby
