Pretty staging and fresh paint can distract buyers from some important warning signs

A few things we always tell buyers to pay attention to:
• Strong air fresheners or candles masking odors
• Cracks around doors, ceilings, or foundations
• Water stains or signs of moisture
• Uneven floors or doors that don’t close properly
• Fresh paint in only one small area 👀
• Poor drainage outside the home
• Moldy or musty smells in basements
• Old mechanicals nearing the end of their lifespan

Not every issue is a dealbreaker — but knowing what to look for can save you major stress (and money) later.
