I love what this group is growing a few steps from our house on the market @ 343 North Monroe! This Thursday from 5:30 -7:30 at the MPACC Box Garden “Let us turn those brown thumbs green”. This piece was inspired from one of my favorite roads to ride my bike on-Slack road. Something about it speaks of “home” to me. “Home” means something unique to all of us-ours has always felt like a gift of refuge. Setting old doors always takes me a quick minute…especially when someone else took out the doors, pulled the jambs & separated everything! 🙃 There is always some chiseling, re-drilling, shimming, fixing the stryker plate & aligning the closing system — somehow, I can never find the correct door for the original door jamb ☠️ — there is always the thot (once I’m into this for an hour)…wouldn’t it be faster to buy a pre-hung door from ?? — then I see this : the pic is the door to the master bedroom @ the — I love ❤️ everything about this door. My favorite part is the decorative plate behind the k**b : these are on every door in the
So, yes - there are quicker ways to do this (and I am slow) / but putting back doors that are +100 years old…in the home they came from…just seems right.
