Say hello to the newest member of the Goetzke fam, Teddy John! We never did a formal announcement and thought it would be a fun little surprise to anyone who hasn’t seen me in person over the last 9 months. With friends and family across the multiple states that have been part of our story as well as clients and friends I don’t get to see in person as often, we knew we could get away with surprising at least some of you!

I’m so happy we were able to share the news with my dad before he passed away and our last memory with him was at our Halloween party where we were able to surprise our neighbors and close local friends with our pregnancy news and gender reveal. He was so proud to be able to tell his friends he was going to be a “Babbo” again and share in that moment. It’s definitely one I’ll cherish forever.

It’s hard to believe this is our last time getting to experience the miracle of bringing life into the world and I’m going to soak in every single second. Being a month away from our first baby turning 12, we are way too aware of how quickly it goes. 🤯😭

We went into this birth with a list of names we had narrowed down and wanted to see who he looked like before deciding. When the kids came to visit in the hospital, they were immediately certain that his name should be Teddy which had not been the top runner for the last several months. It was really special to include them into solidifying his name.

Teddy’s middle name, like the others, is a family name: John, after my late Papa. A crazy fact that I learned tonight AFTER naming him was that my Papa’s legal name was actually “Tadeusz” which is Polish and translates to “Thaddeus” of which Teddy is a common nickname! It was a little Godwink that the name was absolutely meant to be.

We love you so much our perfect little man.

I am so happy I got to catch up with this picture perfect fam and capture a proper closing photo since I was out of town when they actually closed! Erryn was referred to me from one of my lifelong friends, , who wanted her and her family in great hands as they navigated a cross-country move and VA loan. Erryn’s “boots on the ground” sister Sheena had done her research and worked hard to find her sister the perfect opportunity to get her back near family. They landed on a huge condo (bigger than many single family homes!) with a stunning view of the woods overlooking the community pool and so much potential. Unfortunately, we had to jump through many hoops getting the unit to pass the VA appraisal and work with a very difficult HOA. We fought the good fight and despite a lot of challenges, we were able to get to the finish line! I’m so grateful that they put their trust in me to help them navigate purchasing from a different state, but also in fighting for them to get great terms and advocating for them and their VA loan. Congrats and welcome home!

Is there anything better than waking up to the twinkling lights of your flocked tree feeling like you’re inside of a real life snow globe?! I honestly love snow days as long as I don’t have to leave my cozy house. Shealeigh had an audition for Frozen Jr. last night and her song was young Anna trying to persuade Elsa to cover the whole place in snow even though she’s not supposed to. I told her this morning that she must have done a good job because it worked! Haha Are you a fan of snow or could you do without? ❄️

We haven’t yet pulled out our ornaments but a dear friend gifted me this beautiful bluebird ornament in honor of my dad. I had to hang it immediately. I’ve been desperately looking for the signs in everything around me since he passed. Tonight, this simple bluebird amongst the imperfectly flocked branches with the warm glow of the lights reflecting back in the window feels symbolic. Almost to remind me that while the light reflecting back may not be physical, it doesn’t mean it isn’t there. Sometimes the presence you feel isn’t something you can touch… but you know it’s real and that’s exactly where his love can be found now too. Who knows? Maybe it’s me desperate for comfort or maybe one day all of the feelings and small moments that I find myself leaning into, now more than ever, will all make even more sense. For now, it’s a small sense of comfort and a pop of color and light in a dark time and for that I am grateful.

I’ve shared this on my personal Facebook but since it may impact my response time and availability in the coming weeks, I wanted to post here as well. It is with the most broken heart that I share of the sudden passing of my beloved Dadio. Please pray comfort over my family as we navigate this absolutely incomprehensible loss. If you know my dad, I’d be honored if you’d share any memories or photos of him as I want to create something special for my kids to always keep his memory alive in their hearts.

Are you team Christmas after Halloween or Christmas after Thanksgiving? We got a new tree from my favorite and I just couldn’t wait to set it up. I wanted a more natural looking tree for our front room this year and this Rushmore Flock did not disappoint! Now I need to pull a Kim K and find someone who can come play holiday music on the piano every morning leading up to Christmas. 😂

Huge congratulations to my incredible sellers on closing the sale of their first home today. These two purchased this home and started an adorable family here and fate had other plans that secured Chase a job back in their hometown of Cincinnati. These two caught me off guard calling me to setup a listing appointment and essentially saying “and we are ready to list tomorrow”. 😂 This was definitely the fastest listing I’ve pulled together to date but they beautifully maintained the home and did some lovely updates. With the help of squeezing in a last minute house wash, helping me with expedited photos and marketing materials, and Chase & Tallis knocking out a quick, tiny punch list of items and trusting my guidance in pricing to get it sold quickly, we had a successful open house weekend that brought a buyer through and we were in contract in just a few days.

Chase & Tallis, I am so thankful for your trust in me in being part of closing this very meaningful chapter and I could not be more thrilled for you to get back home near family and enjoy your stunning new home. Congratulations!
