DID YOU KNOW? 🏡
Beginning March 1, a new federal rule affects certain all-cash purchases made through LLCs or trusts.
If a buyer is purchasing without financing under an entity, closing attorneys will now collect a bit more ownership information before closing. This is part of a nationwide reporting requirement through FinCEN.
👉 This does not change the buying process for most individuals.
👉 Realtors are not responsible for reporting, but buyers should be prepared to provide the required documentation.
If you’re planning an all-cash purchase through an LLC or trust, it’s good to know what to expect before closing.
If you’re selling in Charlotte, Concord, Kannapolis, Harrisburg, Cabarrus, Mecklenburg, or surrounding counties, it’s good to be aware of how this could impact timing.
As always, I recommend that buyers and sellers consult with a qualified real estate attorney for specific legal guidance.
