this is Cream City.. and if you’re relocating to Cookeville, Tennessee, this is your first stop.
it has been here since the late 1800s. survived a fire in 1948. got bought out by a big corporation in 1986 just to be shut down. and came back in 2011 because Cookeville does not let the good things go.
the neon sign alone is literally a Tennessee landmark. one of the top 100 in the entire country. and it is sitting right on Broad Street in the heart of our historic west side.
this is the kind of place where families come after a long week, couples grab a cone on a Saturday, and college kids make it part of their routine. it is a community staple, not just an ice cream shop.
dairy free? they have you ((and me😉)) covered too. the sorbet on a hot Tennessee day is EVERYTHING.
