Homeowners—if you’re thinking about leasing out your property, here are a few things to keep in mind 👇

As you look through these photos, remember: this is a color that one person loves—but it may not appeal to everyone. I always recommend sticking to neutral tones. What you like isn’t always what the majority of tenants are looking for, and neutral colors help your home appeal to more people.

Another common question: should you include appliances? From experience, having at least a fridge can make your property more attractive. Washer and dryer can go either way—some tenants prefer to bring their own—but having them can still give you an edge.

And just to be clear, this isn’t about criticizing any homeowner—this property was actually beautiful and a great fit for my client. However, the bold color choice throughout the home made it a dealbreaker for her.

Small details can make a big difference when it comes to getting your home leased quickly.
