Is everyone abiding and wearing a face mask when visiting an essential business? Did anybody go out yesterday and today and notice a change?

As a recap, yesterday, Judge Clay Jenkins made it a requirement for everyone in Dallas county entering an essential businesses and riders of public transportation to wear a face covering and practice social distancing. Police will not be ticketing people who do not wear masks.

It’s been over five weeks since we started the shelter-in-place in Dallas and we are just now being required to wear a face mask. Dr. Philip Huang has spoken about a new recognition of the asymptomatic spread of the virus hence the requirement to wear a face mask or cover. It’s also important to note that Texas has not started flattening the curve when it comes to coronavirus cases.

Starting tomorrow, April 20th state parks in Texas will open, April 22nd medical electives resume and on April 24th limited retails resume.

As of this moment, there has been at least 40,585 coronavirus deaths in the U.S. and in Texas 477 deaths and almost 19,000 reported cases; the curve is yet to start declining.

I personally recommend wearing a homemade washable facemask like this one. Please be sure that it has a pocket in which you can insert a filter such as an allergen air filter with the highest FPR (Filter Performance Rating). Stay safe everyone.

Just something to ponder about...

Western countries are experiencing higher rates of COVID-19 infections compared to Asian countries because of the West's aversion to wearing masks. We need universal mask-wearing to aid in lowering COVID-19's virality.
