Mortgage rates fell sharply this week as tensions between the US and Iran stoked the possibility of a military conflict. The 30-year fixed mortgage rate fell 8 basis points to 6.01% for the week ending Wednesday, according to Freddie Mac.

Buyers returning (cautiously, but they’re back)
Prices mostly stable, not skyrocketing
Rates behaving… slightly better than before (low bar)
This is shaping up to be a strategy market, not a frenzy market — good news for buyers who like thinking and sellers who price realistically.

No BS here. Real Estate as it is in the DFW area. Gov't shutdown means a delay in VA and FHA loans. Good news is most people looking for homes still have jobs. Thus for many buyers a great time to get out there with your cash or conventional loan status.

Mortgage rates remained basically flat this week, following two straight weeks of increases.

According to data from Freddie Mac, the average rate on a 30-year fixed mortgage was 6.74% for the week ending Wednesday, down just a single basis point from 6.75% the week prior. The average 15-year fixed mortgage rate was 5.87%, down five basis points from 5.92% last week.
