A Real Estate Agent is professional with a valid license from the governing body in your state, and able to assist Clients in the purchase and sale of real estate on the behalf of a Broker. In Texas, this governing body is called the Texas Real Estate Commission (TREC). On the other hand, REALTORS® are active and dues-paying members of the trade organization, the National Association of Realtors (NAR). As far as the difference to Clients, they are pretty indistinguishable, but most Residential agents are REALTORS®, while many Commercial agents are not.
