Sometimes touring a home you are thinking about buying can be a bit overwhelming, especially when you aren't sure what you should be looking for. Here are some questions you can ask while you are looking at a home you want to put an offer on:

1) How old are the appliances?

2) What are the dimensions of the bedrooms?

3) What is underneath the carpet?

4) How is the plumbing? (Ask about the water heater, water pressure, etc.)

5) How old is the roof?

6) What is the heating and cooling situation?

7) Can I access the attic?

😎 Is there a basement or crawlspace?

9) Were there any additions or major renovations?

10) How is the electrical system?

Your trusted buyer's agent may not have all these answers on hand, but they can definitely relay these questions to the seller's agent! Try to get as much information about the house as possible before you make the next steps.

Real Estate Terminology:
What is the difference between pending and contingent?

A home listing marked as “pending” means it is already under contract with another buyer. Someone beat you to it, and got an agreement signed with the seller. It simply means that a sale is pending, and all of the terms and contract work has been done.

A “contingent” real estate listing means that a purchase and sales agreement has been signed between a buyer and seller, but the closing is still contingent on one or more factors being met.

The difference between pending and contingent is that pending means the home is already under contract with another buyer and that all the terms and contract work has been done. Meanwhile, contingent means that the closing is still contingent on one or more factors being met.
