HUGE news coming from our neighbors in Hill County!🎉
This is a community that is listening to the people’s voices. Glad to see it happening. Will Ellis County see dollar signs or will they help keep this at bay! I’ll be sure to keep watching and listening.
HISTORY WAS MADE TODAY IN HILL COUNTY! They are the first Texas county to pass a temporary moratorium on data centers!!!! 🎉
Rural counties in Texas have been inundated by data centers and that stops today. Hill County commissioners said NO! “We are putting a temporary moratorium so that the impact of data centers and its infrastructure can be studied.”
I witnessed four hours of public testimony (I spoke as well) and then the commissioners voted to pass moratorium. They have become leaders in stopping data centers that are invading Texas.
So here is the problem, the Texas legislature has not given counties the authority to do these moratoriums, and it is quite possible that the Texas AG‘s office will come after Hill County, but all Hill County is trying to do is to protect its residents and its land.
I am asking for EVERY Texas county to stand with Hill County and pass a similar moratorium. The AG Office’s cannot come after 254 counties. If you have a data center coming to your area, you need to contact your county commissioners and tell them to pass a moratorium just like Hill County did today.
It is imperative! We have to give our counties the power to represent its people because the state legislature is not helping us right now. Governor Abbott welcomes data centers into our state, and Texans are mad about that!
Give our Texas counties the power they deserve! Ask your County Commissioners to pass a moratorium TODAY!
