The Importance of the Foundation Inspection The health of a home's foundation is of vital concern to a home buyer for good reason. More Than an "Attaboy" Like many in the home services industry, I receive leads from Home Advisor, who recently presented me with their "Best of 2018" award. At first I thought this was one of those "Thanks for Playing" awards, like kids get these days for pretty much anything. Keeping One's Attic Cool Perhaps you know that it is important to have a well-ventilated attic so your energy costs don't go (literally) through the roof during the summer. A hot attic puts an additional strain on your home's AC system, and keeping air moving through it is the best way to hold temperatures down. This is accomplished through a combination of soffit vents, turbines or passive vents, ridge vents, and even thermostatically controlled fans. [ 160 more words ]

It takes about 4 months to establish a trademark, and it's not cheap. Back in November of 2017 I took the plunge, and today I got the final email. "Better Inspection - Better Protection" is now officially mine. More than a slogan Ownership of a slogan is one thing. Ownership of the concepts it embodies is another. My commitment has been, and will continue to be, to focus intensively on the things that will best serve and protect my clients. [ 50 more words ]

This pipe is the drain for the Master Bath sink. Yep. For some reason the existing sanitary line at this home wasn't good enough, so the owners just stuck this 2" PVC pipe through the wall out to the side of the home. Pesky city ordinances aside, dealing with wastewater this way could lead to foundation damage and other problems. [ 40 more words ]
