Not all home inspection reports are created equal. 🔍
Some buyers are fine with a checkbox-style report: deficient or not, photos may be included. That works for some, and may cost less.
Other buyers want to understand what they're looking at, what it means, and what to do about it. That's who we built our reports for.
Here's an example of what that looks like in practice. One report format might note:
"Foundation: Deficient." (Photo included, no caption, no callout.)
An Anchor Inspection Group report starts the same way, then keeps going:
"Foundation: Deficient. Corner cracking observed at the exterior brick. This is a common condition caused by minor settling, most often tied to seasonal soil movement, and isn't typically a sign of a larger issue on its own. In most cases this is a low-cost repair. Recommend monitoring for any increase in crack size over time." (With an arrow drawn right on the photo pointing to the exact spot.)
That's the kind of detail that holds up when you're negotiating repairs or a credit.
