Another Sunday on the job site to get the week started off right!

Today we added the 3rd layer of our WRB. Attacking all penetrations post window install & MEP rough-ins. Some may view these steps as overkill or a waste of money, BUT… 🤔

Did you know that water infiltration is the leading cause of construction defect litigation? 70%!!! 👨‍⚖️

These moisture-related claims typically stem from building envelope failures, such as improperly installed windows, flawed roof flashing, and defective weather-resistant barriers. Defects in the building envelope are particularly difficult and costly to repair once the home is completed. 💰

We may not be able to build your home in 60 days but we will be able to say we took a belt + suspenders approach to your project after years of learning these lessons the hard way! 😓

Happy Father’s Day to all! 👴👷

Today was a perfect day to be on site at the Henry project and get ahead of our framing crew by installing the window rough opening flashing! 🔨

We are utilizing the Huber Zip System family of products on this home and wanted to show the process of correctly air & water sealing a structure at its most vulnerable points (penetrations). 🕳️

This flashing detail is installed prior to the window unit to ensure that if any moisture does make it past the fl**ge it will meet our rough opening flashing, travel down to the sill (gravity) and out of the building envelope (sloped framing member) 💦

Follow along on this project to see the final layers of our WRB (Weather Resistant Barrier) get installed after our window package. 🪟

PS… Yes we know your PawPaw has used Tyvek house wrap and cap nails for decades and yes it’s cheap. But no, it is not up to our standard! (Photos in comments) 🤦🏼

It’s very refreshing to work with like minded sub contractors who are always looking to step their game up and put in the extra effort to do so.

We pour at 5:00 am Monday so bring your coffee and rubber boots!

Site clearing, house pad and rough grade is complete at the Henry residence after hauling in 66 loads of red select fill and 31 loads of cushion sand ⏳⌛️

Batter boards & string lines are squared up and ready for a week of form setting & underground plumbing+electrical rough in 🔨💦⚡️

I am really happy with how this lot is shaping up and can’t wait to see the vision come together during final grade in a few months! 🏞️

Today we wrapped up the customer entrance at K&E Hose and Fittings new Terrell location. Give them a shout for all of your hydraulic, fuel & vac hose repair needs. They also have a location in Athens, Tx and keep a ton of parts in stock. Great guys and much cheaper than NAPA!

Thank you to Garrett Legacies LLC for doing the concrete cut and pour on the ADA ramp and our team on a seamless Record automatic sliding door install.

An automatic door not only makes your entrance ADA compliant but also provides your customers the ability to easily walk out of your business with both hands full of your merchandise!
