Life is expensive. Let's just acknowledge that. 😂

Groceries cost too much.

Gas costs too much.

Everything seems to cost more than it did five minutes ago.

So when you're looking at buying a home, I completely understand why the price tag can feel intimidating.

But don't assume you need a $300,000 house to have a nice home.

There are options.

There are different floor plans.

There are different price points.

And there are homes you can customize to fit your life and your budget.

Sometimes you just need somebody willing to sit down and run the numbers with you. 🏡

You don't have to have everything figured out today.

You don't have to have the biggest house, the nicest car, or your whole life perfectly put together.

Sometimes you're doing pretty darn good just keeping everybody fed, bills paid, laundry moving, and making it through the week. 😂

And if buying a home is something you've been thinking about, don't talk yourself out of it just because you don't think you can afford what you see online.

There are homes for different budgets, different families, and different stages of life. You don't have to start with your dream home straight out of a magazine. You just have to find the home that makes sense for you.

Maybe I'm Getting Older 😂

I used to get excited about going out.

Now tell me I can stay home, order take out, put on comfy clothes and sit on the porch with a cup of coffee…

I'm in. 😂

There's just something about having a place that's yours.

You can make it cozy.

You can make it messy.

You can decorate it completely differently than everyone else.

You can shut the door at the end of the day and just breathe.

I think that's what I love most about homes.

They're not supposed to impress everyone else.

They're supposed to feel good to you. ❤️

Behind the Scenes

People see the pretty pictures of homes.

They don't see me sitting there trying to figure out how to explain something without making it sound like I'm speaking another language. 😂

They don't see all the questions.

The phone calls.

The back-and-forth.

The “Okay, let me find that out for you.”

And honestly, I like that part.

Because buying a home can feel overwhelming, and if I can make even one part of it a little easier for somebody, then I've done my job.

I don't need to have all the answers.

The older I get, the less impressed I am by things that look expensive and the more impressed I am by things that feel comfortable.

Give me a cozy kitchen.

A good porch.

A quiet piece of land.

A house that doesn't feel like I'm afraid to touch anything.

And a place where people actually want to hang out.

That's my kind of house. ❤️

Funny how your idea of “dream home” changes over the years.

A Little Reminder

You don't have to have everything figured out before you start looking at homes.

You don't have to know exactly what floor plan you want.

You don't have to know every financing term.

And you definitely don't have to be embarrassed to ask a million questions.

Please ask them.

I would much rather have someone message me and say, “Okay, this might be a dumb question…” than have them sit there confused because they were afraid to ask.

There are no dumb questions when you're talking about one of the biggest purchases you'll ever make.

And if I don't know the answer, I'll tell you that too. ❤️

Not Just a House

I think sometimes people look at what I do and think I just show houses and talk about prices.

And yes… there’s definitely plenty of that. 😂

But I also get to hear people talk about what they want their life to look like.

“I want my kids to have their own rooms.”

“I want a porch.”

“I want to be closer to family.”

“I just want something that’s ours.”

Those conversations are the reason I love this.

Because behind every home search is a person, a family, a story and usually a pretty big dream.

Never Forget 🇺🇸

September 11th is one of those days that I don’t think any of us will ever forget.

I remember where I was. I remember watching the news and trying to understand how something like that could happen.

And I remember how different everything felt afterward.

So many lives were changed in a matter of minutes. Families lost someone they loved. First responders ran toward danger while everyone else was trying to get away. Ordinary people became heroes.

Today, I’m thinking about the people who never made it home, the families who have carried that loss for 25 years, and the firefighters, police officers, EMTs, military members and everyday Americans who showed incredible courage.

I hope we never get so used to the story that we forget the people behind it.

Remember the lives.
Remember the courage.
Remember the families.
And remember how, for a little while, we were all just Americans standing together.
