I’ve spent way too much money on "heavy duty" cleaners that smell like a chemistry lab, but this simple $1 pantry mix works better than all of them combined.

You can get that factory shine back in about 15 minutes without scrubbing until your arm falls off.

Here's the secret:

1. Mix 1 cup of baking soda w/ about 1/3 cup of dish soap until it’s a thick paste.

2. Spread a heavy layer over the burnt spots & let it sit for at least 15 minutes.

3. Wipe it away w/ a warm, damp cloth.

If you’ve got a really stubborn spot, just let the paste sit a little longer.

It breaks down the grease so you don’t have to scrape & scratch the glass.

It’s the easiest way to keep your kitchen looking sharp here in the Quad Cities.

Closet feeling stuffed? This is a free 10-second fix.

I’ve seen this work best in apartments where you’ve got more hanging clothes than closet space.

Double up hangers using a soda tab so you can hang 2 items in the space of 1.

Do this:
1) Pop a clean soda tab off a can
2) Slide the big hole onto a hanger hook
3) Hook a 2nd hanger through the tab

Quick heads up: use it for lighter stuff (shirts, kid clothes). Don’t overload it.

Microwave looking like a food 💣 went off? You can get it looking brand new in ~7 minutes w/ zero scrubbing. All you need is a lemon & some water from the tap.

Here's the plan:

1. Fill a small bowl half-full w/ water & drop in a few lemon slices.

2. Pop it in for 5 minutes on high.

3. Don't open the door yet! Leave it closed for 2 extra minutes so the steam can do all the heavy lifting.

4. Open it up & just wipe the walls down w/ a paper towel or rag.

The gunk wipes right off & your whole kitchen will smell like fresh citrus.

It's way better than using those harsh chemical sprays around the place you heat up your food.

Pro-Tips​:

- Use a microwave-safe glass or ceramic bowl. Avoid plastic, it can warp or leach chemicals under high heat.
​
- Add a Wooden Toothpick. This sounds strange, but superheating plain water in a perfectly smooth glass bowl can occasionally cause it to abruptly boil over when you move it. Dropping a wooden toothpick or utensil into the bowl gives bubbles a place to form, keeping it safe.

- ​The bowl will be HOT. Use oven mitts to take it out before you start wiping.
