Wow big changes are happing around the short term rental law in Steamboat Springs 😱

We know it can seem confusing so let me break it down 💁‍♀️

If you rented a short-term property from June 15th 2021-June 15th 2022 you are eligible to transfer your right to operate a short-term rental to a future owner regardless of your overlay zone 🎉

That means your property is grandfathered in even if your sell your home

This is a FANTASTIC selling point 👏

If you don’t intend of selling your home before 2023 but you have rented your property, paid sales tax AND plan on short-term renting in 2023, its probably smart to get a “nonconforming use” permit.

This will allow you to continue to rent short term despite being within the “Yellow” of “Red” zone 😎

This is a rare opportunity for homeowners in these no go zones so be sure to take advantage!

May stats are in and that interest rate is starting to climb up again 📈

But the cost of the single family home in Steamboat Springs is sitting firmly at 1.4 million

Hmm do we see a bubble burst on the horizon? 🧐

…I don’t think so and many leading economist tend to agree with me!

Here’s why

The housing demand in the mountiain communituies is still very real and the economic conditions and lending policies are night and day different from when the market crashed in 2008 💥

There are systems in place to prevent unstable loans from infiltrating the market

Inflation pressures are rising so we can expect demand to slow. I think this year will have a more common home appreciation of around 4-10% instead of the astronomical 17-27% the last two years have seen… 😮‍💨

There is hope for those of you dreaming of purchasing a home in the valley! Just make sure the right real estate agent is on your side…

Who doesn’t love being steps away from the ski resort! 🎿

The bus line right outside your door connects you to the resort, (if you don’t feel like walking in ski boots) grocery stores, and downtown!

The best thing about this place is it’s fully furnished making it perfect for a vacation home or income property!

Big changes are coming to Steamboat Resort! 👀

By the 2023-2024 season we will have the longest ten-person gondola in North America! Not to mention an expansion to the west and a much needed livening up of the base area! 👏

Im sure many of you remember a time when the base area of the mountain was the place to be!

Cheers to (hopefully) having a new generation of delicious food and nightlife on the mountain!🍻

White sands? Turquoise waters? Yes please! 🌊⛱🍹

This family getaway at the beach was MUCH needed

Cruz quite literally kicked off spring break in his birthday suit and little Ruby’s vacation smile was a whole vibe 🥰

Now its back to work and snow (still?!?) but swipe right for some of the memories we will cherish forever 💕
