1. Stock Your Garage or Shed: Be prepared for the first snowfall with salt or ice melt, snow shovels, a snow blower, a roof rake, and a generator with extra fuel.
2. Service Your Furnace: Ensure all furnace components are properly cleaned and working effectively to keep your home warm and your system efficient.
3. Seal Windows and Doors: Take time to caulk around windows and doors and apply weather stripping wherever necessary to prevent drafts.
4. Add Extra Insulation: Add an extra layer of insulation to keep your attic cooler and your rooms toasty, improving energy efficiency.
