The Blueprint Vs. Reality 📐

Looking at blueprints: "Wow, a 15-foot ceiling! So airy! So majestic!"
Actually living in the house: Realizing we now need to buy a 12-foot ladder, a special telescoping dust wand, and mentally prepare for the day a lightbulb burns out, because that bulb is just part of the house now.

First Night in the New House 🍕

Day 1 in the new place is officially in the books. The boxes aren't unpacked, the Wi-Fi isn't hooked up, and we are currently eating pizza off the floor using a packing paper tablecloth. 10/10, no regrets. Best relationship bonding experience money can buy.

The Custom Build Reality Check 🔨

Building a custom home is great because you get to choose exactly where every single outlet goes. It’s also terrible because you suddenly have to look your partner in the eye and decide if you are a "hidden trash can" family or a "trash can at the end of the island" family. Choose wisely, folks. Divorces have started over less.

The Packing Phase 📦

Currently in that phase of moving where I’m looking at items I haven't touched in five years and thinking, "Does this broken blender bring me joy, or should I pack it anyway just to store it in a different garage?" Everything I own is now trapped in cardboard, and my current aesthetic is "stressed minimalist."
