As a Contractor I am to demonstrate my commitment to quality HVAC installations. The equipment manufacturers responsiblity is to highlight and encourage quality installation practices, resulting in better equipment performance and durability. This is what we offer during a visit:
* Check for correct amount of refrigerant
* Test for refrigerant leaks using a leak detector
* Capture any refrigerant

that must be evacuated from the system, instead of illegally releasing it to the atmosphere
* Check for and seal duct leakage in central systems
* Measure airflow through the evaporator coil
* Verify the correct electric control sequence and make sure that the heating system and cooling system cannot operate simultaneously
* Inspect electric terminals, clean and tighten connections, and apply a non-conductive coating if necessary
* Oil motors and check belts for tightness and wear

Hurricane Helene's maximum sustained winds had dropped to 90 mph by 2 a.m. Friday, the National Hurricane Center said, but life-threatening storm surge, winds and rain are continuing.

With winds of 90 mph, that would make Helene now a Category 1 storm on the Saffir-Simpson scale.

The storm had maximum sustained winds of 140 mph when its center made landfall in Florida at around 11:10 p.m. Thursday.

The center of the storm at 2 a.m. was inside Georgia, located around 30 miles north of Valdosta, the agency said. It was moving fast, north-northeast at 26 mph.
