🎉 DSHA staff spotlight 🎉
Meet Tyrel Jackson, Housing Choice Voucher Landlord Liaison, in the Public Housing Authority Office. In his role, Tyrel recruits and serves as the primary point of contact for property owners, managers and landlords renting to DSHA’s voucher holders. He helps write leasing agreements and housing assistance agreement (HAP) contracts, oversees relationships between landlords and vouchers holders, and ensures compliance with federal, state, and local housing regulations. Tyrel has been at DSHA since 2023 and was previously Program Compliance Specialist II and Assistant Section 8 Occupancy Supervisor.
A U.S. Air Force veteran, Tyrel says he is grateful that his job at DSHA enables him to give people “one less thing to worry about by helping them with housing while they may be going through a rough patch in life.” When he’s not at work, Tyrel enjoys spending time with family, listening to music, watching movies and anime, and helping youth learn how to play sports.
“Tyrel is a hard worker who always puts in the effort to get the job done right,” said LaTanya Pratt, Housing Admissions Manager. “He’s reliable, positive, and helps make the workplace a better place to be.”
