Last week I joined other local realtors and associate partners through GWAREA (Greater Worthington Area Real Estate Association) and volunteered . The Family Mentor Foundation is a nonprofit charity established to connect community resources and children who need them most.

They provide Buddy Boxes that are packed with nutritious snacks and easy meals that they can prepare for themselves over the weekend. Founded in 2013, the Family Mentor Foundation currently serves over 30 local area schools by providing food to over 1600 students each week.

Most of us have those people in our lives that believe in us more than we believe in ourselves. Maybe it’s a special teacher, a boss, or a friend. Well, Stephanie Menches will always have a special place in my real estate story...

When I was very green in the real estate market and getting ready to submit my very first offer for my buyer, Stephanie was the listing agent. I went against the advice of some to play it cool and pretend to be “experienced” and instead was completely honest when I reached out to Stephanie. I told her “Umm, this is my very first buyer contract. I might need a little guidance through this” 😬 Her response could not have been more supportive. She showed more excitement for my first buyer deal than I did! Well, long story, short….the deal didn’t make it to the closing table, by no fault of either of us. I could not have imagined getting through that transaction without her being my co-op agent!

Today, nearly a year and a half later, we met in person and it was just as I imagined. We shared business ideas, practiced “cold calling” 😂 and even made plans to partner up for some future ventures.

Stephanie, thank you for being my cheerleader! I look forward to meeting up with you many more times in the future!

EXPCON 2021 in Vegas.
I switched real estate brokerages in December 2019 and shortly after, well we all know what happened…the world shut down.

One of the reasons that I switched to eXp was for the culture, training and collaboration. Despite everything shutting down I still felt connected to so many top producers. Each week I could find multiple live trainings and masterminds through our virtual world and zoom. I attended the virtual conferences and shareholder summits as they were live streamed over the Virbella platform.

This past week I attended my first eXp Conference in person and it did not disappoint! I was able to meet all of the people who I’ve connected with online. I learned ways to propel my real estate business into the new year with topics about social media, YouTube, agent attraction, and mindset.

I got to meet three amazing men: our founder, Glenn Sanford; the leader of my “eXp family tree,” Jay Nelson; and Brent Gove, someone who pours into everyone all the way from California. There were others who I didn’t get a photo with, but I had the pleasure to learn from. One of eXp’s top woman agents and team leader, Veronica Figueroa interviewed the amazing tennis champion and business owner, Venus Williams. Be sure to check out the movie, King Richard, a biography about Venus, Serena and their father that comes out this month.

Not once, over the past 2 years, have I regretted my decision to switch to eXp. They stand by their core values of Community, Service, Sustainability, Collaboration, Transparency, Integrity, Innovation, Agility, and Fun! I am right where I need to be!

A little peak at what I got to see at the Old Worthington Historical Society Home and Garden Tour. Beautiful character and history in these homes dating back to the 1920s. Even a garage the was once a horse stall which was converted into a modern day 3 car garage with the bits of history still intact. 🏡🐴🌻
