I understand why buyers say this: “I am waiting for home prices to come down.”
Nobody wants to feel like they bought at the wrong time.
But if your entire strategy is waiting for a major crash, you may be building your plan around something that may never happen in the way you are hoping.
Home prices can cool. They can shift seasonally. Certain markets can correct. Some homes absolutely sit too high and need reductions.
But nationwide, the long-term trend has been much bigger than the short-term noise.
That does not mean everyone should buy right now. It means the better question is:
What would make buying make sense for my life, my payment, and my local market?
