Anyone ever come across their old high school photos and think— if I could speak to my younger self, what would I say?
I did recently and here’s what came to mind…
André, I see you. I’m proud of you.
You didn’t always have it easy (nor was it expected), but you often put others before yourself. You learned early on that success doesn’t just come knocking — you have to chase it down, work for it, say thank you and stay faithful in the process. You were taught, it’s not just, who you know, it’s what others know about you— meaning, what do others say when you’re not even in the room and your name comes up— do faces light up, do smiles stretch so wide it covers a person’s face from ear to ear— as they tell stories about how you were such a blessing to not only them, but to all their family and friends? You learned that this is the standard/foundation you must always set!!
Because of that grit, discipline, and unwavering faith, here we are today. By His grace, you’ve become a successful family man, entrepreneur and artist— by way acting, real estate, and even musical gifts. Multiple network TV shows and films alongside incredible talent have your name attached to them. By faith, you’ve built thriving businesses and created opportunities for others along the way to grow.
Yet, even beyond the accolades, what makes me most proud is André, you never lost sight of Who brought you here. You kept God first — and He has seen you through every valley and onto every mountaintop.
So congratulations, André, now Dréy. You made it this far, and the best is STILL yet to come.
