Maintenance Worker Job Description
We are a property management company with several commercial buildings around the Twin Cities metro area. We are searching for a full time maintenance worker to join our team. The job involves basic interior and exterior repairs, preventative maintenance, as well as some light construction and landscaping.
To do well in this role you should have previous experience in maintenance, be highly skilled with various hand and power tools, and be able to read and follow repair and installation manuals. Skillful hands, good physical stamina, and strong technical knowledge are important parts of the successful candidates’ talents.
Tasks could include: plumbing work, painting, flooring repair and upkeep, electrical repairs, heating and air conditioning system maintenance, drywall, carpentry, masonry, fencing, etc.
Maintenance Worker Responsibilities:
Conducting routine inspections of premises and equipment.
Performing preventative maintenance.
Handling basic repairs and maintenance.
Diagnosing mechanical issues and correcting them.
Repairing machines, equipment, or structures as necessary.
Seasonal prep / winterizing of heating, cooling, plumbing, etc.
Prepping / remodeling office and warehouse spaces.
Maintenance Worker Requirements:
Proven maintenance experience.
High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
Skilled in the use of hand and power tools.
A minimum of 2 years working experience in a similar role.
Solid experience with plumbing and electrical systems.
Ability to take apart machines, equipment, and devices to remove and replace defective parts.
Ability to read blueprints, repair manuals and parts catalogs as necessary.
Ability to use common tools, such as hammers, hoists, saws, drills, and wrenches.
Experience performing routine maintenance.
Strong organizational and follow up skills.
Eye for detail.
Professional presentation and attitude.
Ability to maintain focus while working individually.
Strong time management skills.
Must have truck or full sized van and tools.
Ability to lift 50lbs.
Comfortable on ladders and roofs.
Other skills that would be desirable:
Experience with forklift, Genie Lift, etc.
Flexible hours and ability to work occasional weekend days.
Willingness to drive up to 2hrs from the Metro area if needed.
