In this video we talk about completing a custom six-inch, 4000 PSI reinforced concrete pad for a customer's hot tub installation. We also installed custom gutters around the building to prevent water damage and drainage issues. Once the pad fully cures in a few weeks, the customer will be ready to place their hot tub.

🚨 Think tile is just “spreading mud and setting squares?” Think again. 🚨

This floor is a perfect example of why tile installation is one of the most underestimated trades in construction.

Every tile must be planned, measured, leveled, aligned, spaced, and installed with precision. One small mistake at the beginning can create a chain reaction that affects the entire room. Pattern layout, lippage control, grout joint consistency, substrate preparation, expansion requirements, and product specifications all matter.

That’s why supervision and quality control are critical.

A skilled installer can produce beautiful work. A skilled installer with proper project management and oversight can produce beautiful work consistently. The difference often isn’t what you see on Day 1—it’s what you don’t see six months later when floors begin cracking, shifting, or failing.

Happy Father’s Day from our family to yours and if it’s not happy, I get it. 🙏Father’s Day carries two emotions for me.

The first is gratitude.

The second is grief.

There are moments when I look at our son and wish my dad was still here to see him grow. I wish he could hear his stories, watch him play, teach him lessons, and share in the little moments that become the big memories. There are conversations I still want to have and milestones I wish we could celebrate together.

The truth is, losing someone you love never really leaves you. You simply learn how to carry both the love and the loss. I didn’t realize today was so heavy until we were sitting at lunch and I took a bite of red beans and rice… Dads favorite. I was on edge and didn’t know why. I asked myself, “What are you afraid of?”, and nothing came to mind. Then the taste of home reminded me of the deep sadness I carry. I looked at my husband and thanked God for his strength.

But grief isn’t the whole story.

As much as I miss my dad, I am deeply grateful for the man who is here. Watching my husband love our son, lead our family, show up every day, and pour himself into fatherhood reminds me that God’s blessings often arrive alongside our heartbreak. He is the kind of dad every child deserves, and I don’t take that for granted.

This Father’s Day, I find myself living in both places at once—missing my father and celebrating my son’s father.

I’ve learned that grief and hope are not opposites. They can sit side by side. One reminds us what we have lost. The other reminds us what we still have.

So today I honor the dad I miss, and I celebrate the dad who is here.

And I thank God for both.

Before and After report! We're back at our Arcadia job where we've just completed level five smooth texture on the walls for wallpaper installation. We've also textured the stairwell that will receive paint. Our client's tile selection has arrived, and we're excited to begin prepping the floors by scraping and leveling them. They've chosen a beautiful diagonal checkerboard pattern that we'll be installing later this week.
