The results are in, and it's clear a lot of you already know Bob.

We asked how long it would take this modular to go from delivered to move-in ready, and the votes landed on A (2-6 weeks) across the board. Mr. Git 'er Done's reputation got here before we could post the answer!

How it went:
Sept 25: Foundation finished
Sept 28: Home delivered
Oct 1: Home set and installed
Oct 17: Move-in ready

That's about two and a half weeks from the day the home was delivered to move-in-ready.

As a family-run business without a big show yard or a large team, we keep our overhead low and our focus high, so every home gets our full attention. We also have great relationships with our set crews, so homes get installed quickly after they arrive. From there, Bob does most of the finishing work himself, which keeps everything moving at a steady pace.

Every home is a little different, and our typical timeline runs about 4 to 6 weeks, with the power company usually being the biggest variable. But when things line up like they did here, this is what's possible.

We're working on a few modular homes right now, and this one, a Pleasant Valley Homes Amherst, is coming together beautifully in Unity, Maine.

If your picture of a factory-built home is a single or double-wide, a modular might surprise you. It arrives at the site in sections, and a crane sets each piece onto the foundation, in this case over a daylight basement supported by steel support (lally) columns, just like a site-built home. A big thank you to the crew at Keely Crane and JM Builders for the excellent work setting this home. Once it's assembled and finished, a modular is nearly impossible to tell apart from a home built entirely on-site.

The difference is in how it's made. Because a modular home is built indoors in a climate-controlled factory, every piece is protected from the weather during construction, which means excellent quality and consistency. And since the home is being built at the factory while the foundation and site are being prepared here, the whole timeline moves faster. You really do get the best of both worlds: factory quality and a finished home that lives like a site-built one.

🏡 A fresh start, and a new place to call home

This past April, Scot and Emily lost their home to a fire, along with nearly everything they owned. It's a devastating loss, and we're thankful we could help make the road back a little shorter.

Installed in July, their new Pine Grove home was built at the factory while the site was being cleared and prepared, so the two moved forward at the same time. That meant we could get them moved into a brand-new home far sooner than a traditional rebuild would have allowed.
