If you’re in the West Fargo area and looking for a top-notch haircut, you need to check out Trev’s Barbershop.

Owner Trever Thompson is not only a Veteran 🇺🇸, but someone I’ve trusted to cut my hair for nearly 15 years. And when I say Trev and his crew are a cut above the rest... I mean it.

Every barber on staff is a Licensed Master Barber, and it shows in both the quality of their work and the experience they provide.

- Clean cuts
- Great atmosphere
- Skilled barbers who know their craft

Walk-ins are technically welcome... but honestly? They’re rarely available because these guys stay BUSY. I’d highly recommend booking an appointment online ahead of time—it’s quick and super easy to do.

🛑 I need to ask for your help! 🛑
Hey friends! I’m helping these folks find a home in Fargo/Moorhead/West Fargo/Lakes Country. Let me know if you hear of anything!

1. Family looking for a newer home in The Wilds. Minimum 4500 square feet, 5 bedrooms, 4 bathrooms, 3-stall garage, 4-stall garage a big plus. Desired price is under $1,200,000.

2. Single man looking for a multi-family investment property to house hack in Fargo. 3-4 units with a budget of $300,000.

3. Client looking for a year-round lake home in the Cormorant Lakes area. Level, semi-private lot with a good beach and great fishing. Open to most house styles except for a modular home. Must have a generously sized garage and an additional storage building is a big plus. Ideally, we’d be at $750,000 or less.

4. Young family looking for a 4 bed, 3 bath home in an established neighborhood in Fargo or West Fargo. 3-stall garage is a must, and a fenced yard is a bonus. Budget of $400,000.

5. Young couple looking for 10-20+ acres near Detroit Lakes. Wooded with great wildlife is a big plus. CASH BUYER!

6. Young family looking for a 1-3 acre lake lot on Sand Lake, Talac Lake or the smaller Lee Lake connected to Sand Lake. These lakes are in between Hawley and Lake Park. They love those lakes for kayaking but are open to other lakes in the area too as long as they are quiet and semi-private.

7. Retired couple looking for 3-bed, 2-bath single family, twin or town home, 1500 square feet or less with a 2-stall garage. They are open to Fargo, Moorhead, West Fargo and Horace with a budget of $350,000.

8. Single man looking for a 2-3 bed, 2 bath luxury condo in Fargo with indoor heated parking and great amenities. Budget of $700,000.

If you know anyone who is looking to sell a home like one of these, all of these families are pre-qualified and excited to find a new home in the Fargo/Moorhead/West Fargo/Lakes Country areas. Let me know if you know of any.

8 Reasons to Pack Your Bags and Move to Fargo, ND (Fargo / West Fargo / Moorhead)

1. Location
Right on the border of North Dakota and Minnesota, Fargo gives you the best of both worlds. It’s a regional hub with big-city amenities—but still feels easy, accessible, and community-driven.

2. Jobs & Economy
Fargo has one of the strongest, most stable economies in the Midwest. With major players like Sanford Health, Microsoft, and Bobcat Company, plus a thriving entrepreneurial scene, opportunity is literally everywhere.

3. Schools & Colleges
Top-notch public and private schools, plus higher education options like North Dakota State University, Minnesota State University Moorhead, and Concordia. It’s a great place to raise a family—or keep learning yourself.

4. Downtown Vibe
Downtown Fargo has serious character. Think locally owned restaurants, breweries, coffee shops, boutique shopping, and a constant lineup of events. Broadway Square and the famous Fargo Theatre anchor it all with movies, concerts, and community events.

5. Outdoors & Recreation
Whether it’s biking, golfing, fishing, or walking trails, Fargo has you covered. The Red River and miles of paths connect parks across the city—and if you love Minnesota lakes country, you’re under an hour away from all the action.

6. People
This might be the best one. Fargo people are genuine, hardworking, and welcoming. You’ll still get the “Midwest nod,” a “You Betcha,” or a quick “Ope!”—and people actually mean it when they ask how you’re doing.

7. Four True Seasons
Let’s address it—winter is real here. Like really real. But the city is built for it, people embrace it, and it makes the other seasons that much better. Plus, there’s something oddly satisfying about being tougher than the weather.

8. Affordability
Compared to most metros, Fargo offers incredible value. Whether you’re buying your first home, upgrading, or investing, your dollar simply goes further here.

In conclusion…
It’s no surprise more and more people are choosing Fargo-Moorhead. It’s a place where opportunity meets quality of life—and where it’s still easy to feel at home.

I firmly believe that buying a house at a young age, so long as your financially ready, is one of the absolute best things you can do. Will owning a house make you “rich?” Of course not. But it lays the financial foundation to which every month you’re building equity in SOMETHING. This is not insignificant.

Making progress towards a goal is addicting (in a good way), and it eventually shows up in other areas of your life. The younger you learn this, the better off you’ll be. Promise.

More important than the money itself is the mindset this habit unlocks.

Every goal in life worth pursuing is going to take a long time….and it’s going to require ongoing consistency more than temporary intensity. Too many people are trying to get rich quick when getting rich slow is the secret.

In any endeavor, the price of success is usually just doing the same boring things over and over again….which most people aren’t willing to do. This is what creates results in the gym, in business, and ultimately in life.

This is why cultivating the emotional discipline to pay a monthly mortgage is one of the best things you can do for yourself.

It’s more than a mortgage, it’s about the type of person it helps you become.

A Venti Iced Americano at Starbucks costs $5.72. Meanwhile, the median price of a home in the United States is around $400,000 right now. That means if you skipped one coffee per day, you could save up enough cash to buy your dream house in just under 200 years.

This is why I think it’s pretty unhelpful advice to tell people to skip out on simple luxuries to save for a house. The math just doesn’t add up.

It’s better to focus on the big things in your budget (car payments, consistently paying your credit card, student loans) than to worry too much about buying a coffee.

Sometimes the little things in life are what keep us sane, so we can have the discipline to make responsible decisions on the big things.
