They’re not the same!🤣

“I don’t know that I’d trust any 14-year-old these days.” 😂

Truer words have never been spoken by Baybee.

When his sister and her best friend were just 14 years old, they ran Sandy’s Barbeque.

By themselves.

At night. 😳

Can you imagine handing two 14-year-olds the keys to a restaurant today and saying, “Alright, y’all got this!” 😂

Baybee isn’t so sure this younger generation could handle it.

And I’m inclined to agree with him. 🤣

But maybe we’re not giving these kids enough credit…

What do y’all think? Were kids just more independent back then? Or do you know a 14-year-old today you’d trust to run the whole place? 👇

🎥The honesty of grandmas. 🤣

I got my love of cooking from my grandma. ❤️

She used to own a country restaurant in Pencil Bluff, Arkansas.

So one day, my grandma decided that she was going to teach me how to cut up a chicken for frying.

After several chickens, she finally said to me,

🎥 Yep. Baybee bought our river property without asking me. 😂

His nephew called him one day and said there was some property down by the river for sale.

So naturally, Baybee went to take a look.

And when I say this place was overgrown…

It looked like the Amazon jungle. 😂

The seller told him, “If you want to buy it, you’ve got to put $1,000 down right now.”

Baybee said, “I’m buying it.”

And that was that. 🤦‍♀️😂

His nephew decided to buy the other side, and meanwhile, Baybee had NO phone service down there.

So by the time he finally got service and could call me…

He’d already bought river property. 😂

I’ll admit, I was a little anxious about whether we could afford it.

But Baybee could see something I couldn’t see yet.

He had a vision for that overgrown piece of land.

And looking at it now?

I’m so glad he took that leap. ❤️

Because that overgrown piece of river property eventually became OUR place on the river—complete with the Gar Bar and a whole lot of memories we never would’ve made otherwise.

Sometimes the adventures that scare you a little in the beginning turn into some of the best decisions you ever make.
