💔 We need help — and we need it now. 💔

The four Dobermans we pulled from a rural shelter—all coming from a severe hoarding situation—are in need of more intensive medical care than we ever expected.

After their initial wellness exams, our veterinary team has growing concerns that these dogs may be dealing with hidden or underlying medical conditions. Despite proper food, supplements, and attentive care, they are struggling to gain and maintain healthy weight, which is often a red flag for deeper issues that require more intensive diagnostics, testing, and ongoing treatment.

This is the hard reality of rescue work—especially for animals coming from neglect, hoarding, and long-term deprivation.

Many dogs entering rural shelters are not fully vetted beyond the most basic intake care. Shelters are overwhelmed, underfunded, and doing the best they can with limited resources. When smaller, foster-based rescues like ours step in to save these lives, we often uncover medical needs after the dogs are already safe—and by then, the responsibility is entirely ours.

Unlike large, well-established rescues with massive budgets and donor bases, small rescues feel every single medical bill. But we still say yes—because these dogs deserve a chance.
