Inflation remains above the Federal Reserve’s long-term target, and many experts now believe interest rates could stay higher longer than originally expected.

Current mortgage rates are still creating affordability challenges for many buyers — but there’s another side to that conversation that often gets overlooked:

Higher rates can also mean:
✔ less competition
✔ fewer bidding wars
✔ more negotiating power
✔ more opportunities for inspections and seller concessions

In other words, a slower market can sometimes work in a buyer’s favor.

Locally, Northwest Arkansas continues to grow, though some larger employers are adjusting relocation policies and workforce structures, which may impact portions of the market differently moving forward.
