⚡️ We haven’t posted in a while but it’s not because we disappeared, we’ve been slammed building homes in NC & VA 🛠️🏡🔥

But this one? Yeah… this one earned a spot on the page. 👀

A few months back we wrapped up this fully custom build for the Ayscue family in Franklinton, NC. Sitting on 3+ beautiful acres with a pond view that’s hard to beat 🌅

This home was designed completely around the family living in it from the floor plan, the finishes, to every interior and exterior selection. Built from the ground up, exactly the way they wanted it.👌🏼

And let’s be honest… that blue kitchen island absolutely stole the show 🔥😮‍💨

Sometimes being a Builder is fun...
Today is NOT one of those days. 😅

Pro tip: If your lumber delivery truck is going to spill its load,
make sure it happens somewhere flat…you know, like a parking lot or something.

Instead ours chose the steepest driveway we’ve ever encountered. Now I’m out here picking up lumber like it’s my new full-time job. 🌲💥

That view is 🔥🔥🔥🔥though.

Roost spent some time on the floor at CONEXPO2026 this week and one thing kept popping up in conversation after conversation: the skilled construction labor shortage isn’t just a problem in the housing industry.

At Roost Building Company we talk a lot about the shortage of skilled labor in construction, but being here made it clear the equipment industry is feeling it too: operators, techs, mechanics…everyone’s looking for good people.

Turns out solving the housing shortage isn’t just about lumber and permits. It’s also about people across the whole ecosystem that actually makes building happen.

Also confirmed: Giant construction equipment is still awesome. 🚜😅
