I’ll be dam if I highlight my brother on the field without screaming how incredibly proud I am of him off the field.
4.2 weighted gpa going into his senior year, 23/24 credits earned. Has been in the AICE program since 10th grade (Advanced International Certificate of Education). He scored an 1160 on his SAT which statistically puts him almost in the top 25 percentile of all races.
I am absolutely amazed at what this young man has accomplished so far.
This right here is how you truly “set the trend”. I was the first in my family to graduate college, just barley making it. Now atleast 3 of the 4 of us will have college degrees. When before I graduated there were ZERO degrees not only in my immediate family, but my extended family as well.
Setting the trend of excellence for my kids isn’t easy and the bar is high now but that is the only way to change family trajectories. Now there is no excuse for any one else in my family ( or your family) to pursue anything they want because they have clear examples.
A real man has to be willing to go into the dark where nobody has been to make the way clearer for those that follow him. 💪🏾💪🏾

By far the hardest, most expensive, most aggravating, longest, most irritating rehab I have ever been apart of.

It is is BY FAR the most beautiful rehab that I have had hands on. This was truly a labor of love. This is so good.
This is so true.
Yes the fancy proposals are cool and get a lot of attention. Yes posting the honeymoon pictures on IG and having everybody comment with “goals” makes you feel good, I get it.
If there is one thing I wish just one person would’ve told me before I got married was that this was going to absolutely be the hardest thing I’ve ever done in my life.
It’s not a 9-5 where you can clock out after a 8 hour day, it’s all day long.
It’s not a fling that you can stop responding to when she is aggravating, you have to get in the same bed at night.
When it gets hard, I try to remind myself “if it was easy, everybody would do it”. There is a reason why the divorce rate is so high, especially in the black community.
So fellas that read this and please internalize it. ITS GOING TO BE TOUGH. Doesn’t matter how beautiful she is (mine is FINE). Doesn’t matter how smart she is (mine has 2 degrees). Doesn’t matter if she is a great mother (mine is the best). She is going to aggravate the S**T out of you some days. And it’s on those days that you are being tested to see if your have the endurance.
Just ask yourself these two questions… When you are 80-90 years old. Are you going to be more proud of the fact that you endured and didn’t quit and made this world a better place by running the marathon till death do you part? Or are you going to be proud that you gave up for a quick fix and damaged the framework for not only your life BUT those lives that you raised. It’s a big deal, don’t be soft.

I see a marriage counselor 2-3 times a month. Why? Becuase I want to be a better husband
I work out 4-5 times a week. Why? Because I want to dunk on my son for as long as I can
I take time to listen to people with diametrically opposing views. Why? Because I want to be able to objectively and unemotionally deal with ALL people the RIGHT way, and not out of fear, victimization or hate
The bottom line is that you have to WORK at the things you want. Don’t expect the results if you don’t want to work.

When your are always on the go, it’s hard sometimes to sit back and reflect on the transformations and progress you make.
If it’s one thing I absolutely love about construction and rehabbing is being able to see value and bringing things back to life.
This video is from months ago where I said we were going to bring these floors back to life and myyyyyyy goodness we did exactly that!
I’ve said this time and time again, it doesn’t matter if you are a doctor, lawyer, teacher, or work at Walmart. You need to be involved in real estate in some capacity. You don’t have to be active and in the game daily BUT you need to be in the game. Not just for you, but for your families sake.

My wife and I are coming up on 2 years being married and this is where it all started. Going through the good and the bad with her has been truly challenging but nothing in life worth anything is easy and I’m so thankful to be able to share the rest of my life with this woman right here. I can honestly say that marrying her was one of the best decisions I’ve made in my 30 years on this earth.

It’s so fascinating to me how shallow we can be sometimes when we get what we think we want.
I’m going to share a few points of consideration and ask a few questions for you to chew on
There is already a continuous phenomenon where young (mainly) black athletes end up losing all their money shortly after their pro careers are over. We are talking hundreds of thousands and sometimes millions of dollars. So why do we think that it would be beneficial to give them access to more money at an even earlier age?

Since this money is eventually going to be skewed towards the best athletes, as of now what schools house the best athletes? So what schools are going to benefit more?

“Athletes also will be allowed to use their own status as a college athlete to promote their own public appearances or companies for the first time.”
-so you mean to tell me that with all the daily demands that college athletes have juggling school and sports, having the ability to do this is going to help? Now you are going to see even more athletes majoring in BS majors because the won’t have “time” for school. So the majors that’s will actually make them real money for the remainder of there lives will be out the window now

Boosters will now have open season on recruiting athletes to their schools and offering families a lot of money which will also hurt smaller schools from getting good athletes.

Certain schools will be able to “arrange” NIL opportunities. Again, incentivizing the bigger school to be able to offer college kids ALOT of money to choose their school .
Come on people, let’s think before we start praising

Are you “man enough” to apologize when you are wrong?
Are you “man enough” to let your daughter correct you when you say something you tell her not to say?
Can you look another man in the eyes when he is dead wrong and work through a disagreement without letting your emotions get the best of you?
When your wife calls you out on your s**t, are you going to say “you are right” and change behaviors or are you going to twist it around on her so you can feel right?
You think you are a MAN because you can put a woman “in her place” and beat her down with your words and tone?....NOPE not in my book.
Can you shut your mouth when your wife is mad and emotional and validate her feelings instead of putting her down?
Check your ego. It’s time to grow up and be a real man.
