According to the Sun Sentinel, a proposed constitutional amendment could significantly increase Florida's homestead exemption, potentially reducing property taxes for many homeowners beginning in 2027.

Under the proposal, the homestead exemption would increase to $150,000 in 2027. It would rise to $250,000 in 2028 and school taxes would remain in place.
