Some encouraging news for Florida homeowners! 🏡
According to a new actuarial report shared by Florida Realtors®, Floridians paid nearly $3 billion less for homeowners and auto insurance in 2025 compared with the previous year.
A few highlights:
• Homeowners insurance premiums paid statewide declined by $1.29 billion
• Auto insurance premiums declined by $1.7 billion
• 20 additional insurers began writing coverage in Florida
• Citizens Property Insurance’s share of total insured value dropped significantly
Insurance costs are still an important consideration when buying or owning a home in Florida, but it’s encouraging to see signs of greater stability and competition in the market.
For Southwest Florida homeowners and buyers, this is definitely a trend worth watching.
