Hi visiting friends - if you want a red light, please just pop by the Visit Destin-Fort Walton Beach visitors center on Okaloosa Island by Beasley Park, it's a beautiful space, and they give out the flashlights for free :)

Hey everybody - this heat is NO joke today. It will break later this afternoon with some strong thunderstorms, but if you or anyone you know is struggling during the day, consider using the FWB City City of Fort Walton Beach Recreation Department on Jet Drive - they have a seating area in the front - or the Fort Walton Beach Public Library as a cooling center. Sitting in a hot house all day is simply dangerous today, so please utilize places that have cool air. And if you're one of those places, please please please have patience and know you're providing a true community service. Hydrate y'all!

4PM 7/28/26: 🥵 Well, the heat won't let up just yet. We'll see another round of EXTREME heat - mainly along coastal areas on Wednesday. Remember, if spending time outdoors:
