40. ✨

Another trip around the sun—and somehow, I don’t feel 40.

Actually, I’m pretty sure I’m Benjamin Button-ing this whole thing. 😂 Shining backwards, if you will.

But maybe that’s what getting older is supposed to feel like?

Not younger, necessarily—but lighter. Wiser. More comfortable in your own skin. Less interested in proving yourself and more intentional about protecting your peace, choosing your people, taking care of your body, and building a life that actually feels like yours. 💪🏼

The last few years have stretched me in ways I never expected. They’ve taught me that health is a gift, time is precious, faith matters, and the people you get to walk through life with are everything.

I know myself better at 40.
I trust myself more.
I love harder.
I say no faster. 😂
I worry a little less about what people think.
And I’m incredibly grateful for the life God has given me.🙏🏼

There are still so many things I want to do, places I want to see, people I want to help, meals I want to cook, laughs I want to have, and memories I want to make.

So, 40… I’m not mourning you.

I’m stepping into you with a whole lot of gratitude, a little more wisdom, plenty of ☀️ sun, and apparently the audacity to believe my best years are still ahead of me. 🤍

Here’s to another year around the sun—and to shining backwards. ✨

If it’s Sunday, you know that I’m preparing for the new week! In our household, we run at least two different menus because…teenagers. 👀

Peep this reel for the menu.

Timing:
Menu Planning: 15 min
Grocery shopping: 1 hour
Prepping & Cooking: 2 hours
Cleaning: 1.5 hours (but that’s what my husband and my son are for 😂).

What’s on the menu for you this week?

What tips would you like from me, in order to better prepare for the week?

Some of the hardest things to heal are the things no one else can see.

Addiction isn’t always a substance. Struggle doesn’t always look like someone falling apart. And depression doesn’t always announce itself to the room.

Sometimes it looks like functioning. Achieving. Smiling. Helping everyone else.

And sometimes the patterns we use to cope—control, validation, relationships, work, food, chaos, obsessive thinking—can become the very things keeping us from looking at what hurts underneath.

Hayden Panettiere was incredibly open about her struggles with addiction, depression and postpartum depression. She used her voice to make other people feel less alone, and that deserves to be acknowledged.

Her passing has been a reminder for me:

Healing requires honesty.

Not shame.
Not judgment.
Not perfection.

Just the willingness to stop looking away from the things inside of us that need our attention.

If something in this message feels uncomfortably familiar, you don’t have to solve it all today.

But maybe today can be the day you acknowledge it.

Maybe that’s where healing begins.

Rest in peace, Hayden. 🤍

Apparently, this is what adulthood looks like… getting ridiculously excited about CLEAN AIR. 😂🌿

But when you start learning about what can actually be floating around in the air inside your home—mold spores, dust, allergens, pet dander, smoke, VOCs—you start looking at indoor air quality a little differently.

And here’s the part I want everyone to understand:
An air scrubber doesn’t replace finding and fixing the source of mold or moisture. But reducing the particles circulating through the air can absolutely be part of creating a healthier indoor environment.

For me, clean air has become just as much a part of the foundation as clean water, quality food, sleep, movement, and sunlight.

So yes, I practically skipped to the package room when my Jaspr® ⛰️ arrived. 😂

One of the most powerful things you can do for your hormones, energy, sleep, and metabolism is completely FREE. ☀️🐕

Morning outdoor light signals to your brain that the day has begun—helping melatonin wind down, supporting your natural cortisol-awakening response, and setting the clock for better sleep later that night.

Even a short morning walk counts. The key is getting outside, because windows filter and dramatically reduce parts of the light signal your brain uses.

Let the daylight reach your eyes naturally—without staring directly at the sun—and give your body the cue it has been waiting for.

Before reaching for another supplement, make sure your foundation includes LIGHT.

Your circadian rhythm affects far more than your sleep—and I see the consequences when it’s disrupted show up in clients’ symptoms and lab work all the time.

Save this as your reminder to get outside tomorrow morning. ☀️

🚨 PLEASE DO NOT USE CHEMICALS TO WASH YOUR PRODUCE!

Whether this was created for entertainment or not, it’s still important to share this reminder that it can be extremely dangerous to wash your produce with chemicals to avoid this rampant cyclospora. This is right up there with washing your proteins before cooking.

Whether you’re spreading chemical residue or pathogens, it’s all dangerous. 🦠 Food safety knowledge is critical.

The headlines are scary. Your response doesn’t have to be.

Cyclospora is a foodborne parasite that’s currently being investigated in multiple states. It can cause prolonged watery diarrhea, fatigue, bloating, and abdominal cramping, and symptoms may not show up for 1–2 weeks after exposure.

What I’m doing:

✔ Wash produce under running water.
✔ Scrub fruits and vegetables with firm skins.
✔ Peel when possible.
✔ Cook vegetables when appropriate—heat is the most reliable way to kill Cyclospora.
✔ Support healthy digestion and gut function every day.

No one can eliminate every risk, but we can make choices that support our health without living in fear.

Some seasons of life make gratitude feel easy.

Others require you to look a little harder.

I’ve learned that gratitude isn’t pretending everything is perfect. It’s choosing to recognize the blessings that still exist—even while you’re healing, grieving, waiting, or rebuilding.

Today, take 30 seconds to notice one thing that’s still good.

Your heart (and your nervous system) will thank you.
