It is important to regularly test your smoke and carbon monoxide detectors to ensure they are functioning properly and can alert you in case of an emergency. To test your detectors, simply press the test button on each unit. This will activate the alarm and allow you to confirm that it is loud enough and can be heard throughout your home.

If the alarm does not sound, replace the batteries and try again. If it still does not work, replace the unit entirely. It is recommended to test your detectors at least once a month and replace the batteries at least once a year.
