Stopped by today at the Frisco Heritage Museum to listen to the Declaration of Independence being read. It’s strange how history repeats itself.
The history of Preston Road illustrated by a mural inside the museum was beautiful. Call it the Shawnee Trail, the Cattle trail or the military trail, it has never belonged to just one group of people. Just like today.
As European homesteaders encroached on the prairie, conflicts and government policies pushed the Caddo, Comanche and Tonkowa tribes farther west. Today, the history of these first inhabitants is preserved and celebrated through exhibits at the Frisco Heritage Center .
