I hope everyone is enjoying the start of summer and surviving the Texas heat so far!

I wanted to send out a few simple home tips that are especially helpful this time of year in North Texas.

Whether you’ve bought a home with me in the past, reached out about the market, referred friends and family, or simply supported my business over the years — thank you. I truly appreciate it more than you know.

The market this summer feels a little different than the past few years. We’re seeing more homes come on the market, buyers taking a little more time before making decisions, and homes that are clean, updated, and well cared for standing out the most.

Areas like Frisco, McKinney, Celina, and Prosper are still continuing to grow quickly, and demand in those areas remains strong — especially for homes that are priced well and show well.

With summer officially here, it’s also a great time to stay ahead on a few simple maintenance items that can really help protect your home long-term.

A few easy things that make a big difference:

Easy Summer Curb Appeal Updates
• Fresh mulch and trimmed flower beds instantly make a home look cleaner
• Pressure washing the driveway and front porch goes a long way
• New plants or flowers near the entry can brighten everything up
• Replacing an old doormat or exterior light fixture is an inexpensive update that helps more than people realize

Texas Summer Home Tips
• Watering your foundation consistently during dry periods can help reduce foundation movement
• Change HVAC filters regularly during the summer months
• Check for gaps around doors and windows to help keep bugs and heat out
• Make sure sprinklers are covering areas around the foundation evenly

A Few Quick Reminders
• Clean gutters before heavy summer storms
• Check fences after spring wind and weather
• Watch for standing water to help with mosquitoes
• Consider an AC tune-up before the hottest part of summer hits

Many of today’s seniors carry a quiet, lifelong grief: a sibling, child, spouse, or friend who never came home from war. They kept working, raising families, and building communities even as an empty chair remained at every holiday table.

Their resilience turned private loss into public good—volunteering at veterans’ halls, leading Memorial Day ceremonies, and teaching younger generations why freedom must be cherished.

When we listen to their stories, we honor both the fallen and those who have borne the weight of their absence for decades. A simple “Tell me about them” or “Thank you for what your family gave” lets these elders know that their sacrifice—and the sacrifice of their loved one—still matters.
