My inspection today was postponed, so I went to work on a Christmas present instead. I haven't painted in a few years, so definitely knocking some rust off lol. There is more detail to add in the foreground, but I like where it is heading, it feels like winter. I hope everyone has a wonderful holiday season!

One common issue we see during pre-drywall inspections is roof trusses nailed to interior walls. Contractors nail them while the trusses are being installed with a crane, but the nails should be removed prior to sheetrock.

Truss uplift is a condition that can happen down the road due to natural expansion/contraction during cold or hot weather. The result is the trusses pull the sheetrock upwards where ceilings and walls meet, leaving a large gap. This is difficult to repair later as the intersection is now concealed by sheetrock and insulation.

When walking your new build, take a look. Feel free to send some pictures over if in doubt. This is just one of many issues we find during pre-drywall inspections that will soon be hidden and potentially manifest later.

The insulation paper backing is reversed, and flammable. Water Heater flues can get pretty hot. It states right on the paper in red lettering not to leave exposed over and over again....We see this a lot.

Perhaps they forgot to bring their measuring tape when building the stairs. One is 10" in height, the other 6".
